Desperately Seeking an Agenda

Senate Democrats meet Wednesday, search for an electoral strategy

March 8, 2006 -

WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) made the following statement Wednesday regarding the Senate Democrat caucus meeting, and their attempt to find an agenda for the 2006 election:

“While Senate Democrats are searching for an agenda for the November elections, Republicans are taking action on an agenda for the American people. While Democrats are working on their electoral strategy, Republicans are bolstering homeland security, fortifying our nation’s defense, expanding economic opportunity, improving access to health care and implementing a strong energy policy.

“While Senate Democrats continue their search for relevancy, Republicans are united behind the effort to strengthen the economy and our security.”

Sen. Cornyn served previously as Texas Attorney General, Texas Supreme Court Justice, and Bexar County District Judge.
